Description
Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C) is composed of 99.0% to 100.5% pure C₆H₈O₆, with a molecular weight of 176.12 g/mol. It appears as a white to pale yellow crystalline powder, freely soluble in water, with a pH of 2.2–2.5 in a 5% solution. It has low moisture content (loss on drying ≤ 0.4%), minimal impurities (heavy metals ≤ 10 ppm), and residue on ignition ≤ 0.1%, making it suitable for food, pharmaceutical, and cosmetic use.
